Spool I, Spool II is an experimental video series that reflects the steps and processes of life, entering the world and gradually unraveling toward another end.
In Spool III-IV, with a linear time structure, each video represents a journey to a specific place as a process of winding and unwinding simultaneously, without any defined destination.
We unwind from pitch black to an empty spool, and rewind from vacant white to a replete spool. The sound is edited into repetitive noise beats that disrupt the chronological flow, using only natural field recordings, repeated without any form of distortion.
Performer: Sian Yi
