A Sustained Wind consists of 24 tracks of urban field recordings made in Boston, MA, USA, and the surrounding areas. Woven together and gradually shifting, the sustained gust of wind from Boston resonates through a metal pipe resembling veins beneath the earth, circulating and dispersing. The constantly shifting location parameters envelop every place, ultimately rendering where you stand irrelevant.
… there were some construction sites including open hydrants and pipes. Listening to the water flow as the city sounds conveyed through the pipes, I wondered where they all came from and where they would go, in what ratio they would mix with the air, and how fast their resonance will fall.
